As per sources, George Chahal from ward 5 will be no more participants in the federal Liberal nomination race in Calgary Skyview. At this point, it becomes important to know why the Calgary Skyview Liberal candidate left Ward 5 Race. You all know that for 15 seats, Calgarians are going to the polls on October 18th, 2021.
Latest Update from federal Liberal nomination in Calgary Skyview –
George Chahal has announced that they are no more in the race. That means the first-term councilor is not the Calgary Skyview Liberal candidate, but he will remain councilor of the ward for the rest of the current term. Chahal also said that he always played an important role in the federal government, and they dedicatedly supported their federal government last year.
That means it is clear that they need a representative in Ottawa in the government, who will represent the residents of northeast Calgary and the city of Calgary. This time, on October 18th, there will be a totally new council, as, among 4 members, Mayor NaheedNenshi is planning not to run in the race, and one is already retired. Joe Magliocca from Ward 2, has not declared his election intention yet.
Ward 5 –
George Chahal is from Ward 5 candidates. Ward 5 includes the east of the Deerfoot and north of McKnight Boulevard; thus, it is made in northeast Calgary neighborhoods. The federal Calgary Skyview is riding spreads farther south to 32 Avenue N.E. and west to Harvest Hills Boulevard N.
Chahal believes that he runs federally to support their residents’ voices and make sure new opportunities for them. He has also been a chairperson in the Foothills Athletic Park redevelopment advisory committee. This committee is designed to develop a new field house and the renovation of McMahon Stadium and the nearby area.

In 2015, Darshan Kang was elected in the riding as a Liberal. But he had not a long journey as he was found guilty and kicked out in 2018. In addition, a staff member claimed that she had been sexually harassed and assaulted by him. Later in 2019, Jag Sahota won the seat and was chosen for the Conservative party.
In the end, it is clear that when Calgarians go for the polls on October 18th, there will be at least nine vacancies out of the 15 seats. Until last Thursday, only four candidates were registered to run in the race in ward 5; Anand James Chetty, Raj Dhaliwal, Tariq Khan, and Aryan Sadat. To the date, it is all about Calgary Skyview Liberal candidate.
